Job Description

The Fitness Pro leads a variety of group fitness classes and activities designed to enhance participants' physical fitness and overall well-being.

As a Fitness Pro, you will create a spirit of camaraderie, catering to individual needs in a dynamic, energetic environment while delivering safe, effective, and engaging workouts. You will play a key role in fostering meaningful interactions and relationships, ensuring a stellar experience for members at all fitness levels.

Starting pay ranges based on experience and certifications in San Diego: $23 - $30 / hour

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build a strong sense of community with members through consistent coaching and delivering safe, motivating sessions.
  • Lead classes following Chuze Fitness guidelines, ensuring all necessary equipment and music are prepared in compliance with licensing requirements.
  • Complete Chuze onboarding and training materials prior to teaching.
  • Stay updated on program changes and formats updates.
  • Maintain Chuze cleanliness standards before, during, and after sessions to ensure the gym is always in top condition.
  • Engage in personal growth and development through feedback, training, and regular evaluations with the Fitness Manager.
  • Participate in ongoing fitness education and maintain proof of current credentials.
  • Foster teamwork and communication with Chuze staff to support member and facility needs.
  • Attend and contribute to Fitness department meetings and promotional events.
  • Utilize the Fitness Communication Platform for essential updates.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) or Group Exercise Instructor (GXI).
  • Must hold a current, nationally recognized certification in format
  • CPR/AED Certification required (or must be obtained within the first 60 days of employment).
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate large group fitness classes with inclusive cueing for all fitness levels.
  • Strong team communication skills; ability to give and receive feedback effectively.
  • Competence with basic Audio/Visual (A/V) equipment for class instruction.
  • Organized, self-driven, with the ability to multitask and solve problems effectively.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality while building strong relationships with members and staff.
  • Proficient in English: speaking, reading, and writing.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to walk, climb stairs (as required by facility layout).
  • Able to lift and move at least 50 lbs (weight requirements may vary based on class format and equipment used).
