Group Fitness Instructor (INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR)

The Fitness Instructor is responsible for providing resort guests with the most current techniques available, while ensuring a fun, comfortable and relaxing gym and group class experience.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with Sunseeker Resorts, departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures.  

Job Duties

• Always display excellent customer service by greeting each guest warmly. 


• Accommodate all guests’ requests expediently and courteously. 


•  Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with departmental and Sunseeker policies and procedures. 


• Understand how to use all gym equipment.


•  Maintain the cleanliness of the gym areas by cleaning and disinfecting the gym equipment after each class or personal training session.


• Document maintenance needs and records of equipment.


•  Demonstrate correct and safe use of fitness equipment to guests.


• Monitor and maintain the safe and proper use of gym equipment during classes and trainings. 


•  Conduct personal training sessions and/or group classes when scheduled. 


• When teaching group classes, plan and execute class in a fun, effective and timely manner.


• Notify management of needed maintenance and supplies. 

Minimum Requirements

Combination of Education and Experience will be considered.  

• COI (Certificate of Liability insurance)


• Personal Trainer Certifications: AFAA, ACE, NETA, NASM


• Working knowledge of TechnoGym equipment


• Minimum of two years’ experience as a personal or group trainer.

• Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.


•  Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms


• Excellent customer service skills


• Ability to function well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet established deadlines


• Must possess mature personal discretion and sound judgment


• Excellent organizational, with particular attention to quality and detail
